In Loving Memory Tattoos Part 2

In our last post on In Loving Memory tattoos we talked about some of the resons behind these tattoos. We mentioned that they are one of the tattoo designs that people typically dont ever regret getting and that they can help the healing process. By creating some living memory or symbol that reminds you of the person you will start to feel a little better and begin the healing and letting go process. We also talked about some design options such as a portrait, text or symbolic design. In this article we will talk about gathering ideas, refining the design and choosing a tattoo artist and some typically places for getting such a tattoo.

Gathering Ideas:

One of the most important parts that we mentioned before is to take your time with designing such a tattoo. Don’t feel rushed to just go out and get the design done or pick some silly flash off the wall. This is a powerful and meaningful tattoo that is deigned to help you heal after the loss of a loved one. So choosing the design and working on developing it is also part of the healing process. It will give you a chance to remember important things about the person. The best way typically to get ideas is to try and not thinking about it to much. It is best to get the idea that you want such a tattoo and then just put it in the back of your mind. Then one day when you are doing something else you will often think of some creative ideas that will work perfectly for the tattoo. Give the process time and allow your mind to wander. This is how artists and many creative people think. When you feel pressured to make a decisions or to come up with a design you are shooting yourself in the foot.

Refining the Design And Choosing The Artist

Being able to choose a good quality professional tattoo artist and working with them to refine the concept of your design is just as important as the above step for gathering ideas. Again you don’t want to rush it. Spend a good deal of time at the tattoo stores around your house. Start to find a store you feel comfortable in and try and look for artists that seem like a good match for you. Try to find someone that will listen to your ideas and be willing to incorporate what you want into a design. Not all tattoo artists can do this many of them are good at doing flash tattoos but designing from scratch or doing portraiture work takes a really proficient tattoo artist. Again you don’t want to rush the process. Find a store you are comfortable in and then find a artist that is will to work with you. This will ensure the quality of the overall design and guarantee that you get the design you have your heart set on.

Typically Places

There really are no typically places for such a tattoo and where you decide to get your ink done should really be up to you, your body and the design you are getting done. Talk with your tattoo artist about some suggestions for good places. In fact you will want to find the place before creating the design to make sure the design can fit in that space. One of the most common places to get an in loving memory tattoo is the shoulder. Other options might be the upper or entire back if you want a very large piece. Some people also choose to do a complete memorial sleeve tattoo design. The front chest area can also be popular since it is close to your heart. Of course you could always do something very different and get a foot of calf tattoo design.

Again whatever design and placement you choose for your in loving memory tattoo make sure you treat the whole thing with an easy going nature and don’t rush the job. Allow yourself time to explore different possibilities and this will also help with the healing process.

In Loving Memory Tattoos Part 1

I hate to say it but so many people out there that get a tattoo late end up regretting their decisions to do so. You see so many people out there go out with friends and just casually get a tattoo. They don’t think about what they want before hand or spend any time planning what they should get. Instead they go tot heir local tattoo shop and point to the flash on the wall of some design they like that evening. Well six months down the road most of these people regret the choice. Especially if they drank a little too much or were swayed by a friend a little too much.

The one way to get a tattoo that you will probably never regret getting done is to get a Rest In Peace or In Loving Memory Tattoo. Typically when people get these tattoos it is after they have lost someone significant in their lives. Maybe they have lost a child, grandparent or parent and this is so deeply effecting them that they feel motivated to get a tattoo design in memory of the person. These are typically very therapeutic and can be a great tattoo design that you will be proud to show off for many years to come and is often not one that you will regret. In Loving Memory tattoos make the greatest of all designs. Not that you should ever hope to go through the tragedy of losing someone but if you have and you are contemplating a tattoo to memorialize the person then you should probably go aehad and do it.

A Way Of Letting Go

Often people that get in loving memory tattoo designs done feel like it is a way to help them let go of some of the pain and difficulty of the loss. One of the most overwhelming feelings that occurs after losing someone is not wanting the memory of them to fade. Well, often a tattoo can ensure the person stays with you all the time and their memory will stay fresh in their mind. This can often be a great way to feel a little bit relieved and let go of the pain and suffering of the loss. Not that it will ever replace the person and in no way will it fully heal the wound. People always carry the wound of a significant loss but someone magically it just feels better knowing the person or some memory of them is always there.

In Loving Memory Tattoo Design Choices

When it comes to creating a design for such a tattoo really it is up to you and your own creativity. You know why the person was important to you and what things you valued about the person and your relationship with them more then anyone else. So really no one can tell you what to get for the design. However, there are some common symbols that people like to include or use for such tattoo designs. One very common one is the persons portrait. A simple tattoo of the face of the person can often be all you need and it can be very powerful. If you are not so sure about a face then you might choose a written tattoo. Some little saying or phrase that you associate with that person can work well. The dates and a short epitaph about the person is another way to get a written tattoo. You can always do the dates and RIP or Rest In Peace as the tattoo design. Some people prefer something more symbolic and not so obvious. For example a dove tattoo design or angel tattoo design might work well to symbolize the person. Again it is really up to you what will work best. The most important thing is to think about the person and what the relationship really meant to you. Why was the person important and see if you can find a symbol, value or feeling that is really at the inner heart of the relationship that you had. This will often spur a great symbol or design.
